Hi! Mi name is Mario, and I am a Game Developer from Spain. You probably already figured that I want to make videogames.
Well, I don't want to just make videogames.
I want to CODE games.
I want to Design games.
I want to learn about every last bit of how videogames are made. I'm always looking for a new project, a new tool, a new jam, a new game. Something cool to play with or something challenging to test and develop my skills.
Besides C# for amateur games, I've been coding professionally in Python and Javascript for 2.5 years. I've also worked a bit with Scala and feel confortable with both Object Oriented and Functional programming.
I mostly use Unity with C# for my games. I'm comfortable using Git and I won't rewrite your branch's history. I've been working professionally in Agile environments for the last 2.5 years and used JIRA software for the most part of it.

2D casual action game originally intended for mobile platforms.
I wanted to create an easy-to-learn, hard-to-master game, with the simplest controls possible. The game has only two controls: tap the left part of the screen to defend, and the right part to attack.
The game flow is focused on the timing of those two actions, while one takes a time to recover and the other one needs a time to take effect.
The game features a perk system, in which the player can trade in skulls gained from killing enemies, in exchange for upgrades.
All design and programming by me. Music and most art assets are free domain from itch.io and credited in-game and in the game's page.
Tools used: Unity & Aseprite
I designed and developed this game for Android devices and later ported it to HTML5, adding suitable controls for a browser.

Short 2D skill-based platformer. At the time of making this game I was obsessed with the game Celeste. I wanted to make a platformer that, like Celeste, featured levels challenging both the player's mechanical andproblem-solving skills.
The game features 12 levels all built over the previous one. Starting from a simple walk, in each level a new obstacle is added to the course.
This creates the feeling of repeating the same level, while progressively adding challenge, either via skill checks in which the player needs to be precise, or "puzzle" obstacles, which require thinking to find the path to the end of the level.
This game was an excellent chance for exploring 2D level design, and playing with the new Unity 2D lighting system and the particle system.
Caverynth acquired some popularity in GameJolt.com, occupying one of the top positions in the Platformer - Hot category. It was also one of the games selected to be featured in Cuarentena Perpetua, an online showcase of Spanish videogames ran by IndieMad.
Black Winter
Text based adventure I made for a game Jam with the theme "isolation".
I wanted to try my skills at narrative design, creating a narrative-driven game that is focused on moral choices rather than resource management.
The Old Shelter
Game made for Ludum Dare Jam 46 with a team of 6 people.
I worked in this game as a designer and C# developer.
